Japan is a country filled of contrasts between modern life and accident traditions. This was true of Tokyo, a bustling city filled with millions of people, constant sounds and a visual overload of lights and colours. In contrast Kyoto couldn’t have been more different. I visited a quiet peaceful village up in the mountains, learning traditional Japanese textile techniques such as Shibori and block printing.
